Center Web Site. We appreciate your interest in our facility and will attempt in these
next few pages to give you first an overall view as to where we are, what we do, our
qualifications, and then specifically discuss the various services and operations which we
perform.
Glenridge Cosmetic Surgery Center is a full service complete out-patient center devoted
primarily to Cosmetic surgery. The centers director, Dr. Fred F. Petmecky, M.D. is a
highly skilled, extensively experienced, cosmetic surgeon who has been certified by the
American Board of Surgery, the American Board of Thoracic Surgery, and the American Board
of Cosmetic Surgery. Dr. Petmecky was actively engaged in the practice of heart, lung and
blood vessel surgery for 20 years before retiring to pursue the less stressful and deeply
satisfying role of cosmetic surgeon. He trained with Dr. Julius Newman at the graduate
hospital in Philadelphia from 1989 until 1992 and was certified by the American Board of
Cosmetic Surgery in 1992. He has been actively engaged in the full time practice of
cosmetic surgery since 1992.
The Glenridge Cosmetic Surgery Center was established in 1996 at its present location.
The center is conveniently located near Georgia Highway 400 and Interstate 285. It is
easily accessed from East or West Off I-285 or from North or South from Georgia Highway
400 (see map page xyz). The center is a full-service center offering on-site consultation,
surgery, recovery and after care. It is located in a private, quiet office park (Glenridge
400) at 5825 Glenridge Drive in Building 2, Suites 104/105. The central philosophy of the
director and staff is to offer private, high quality care in a centrally located, facility
at affordable prices. Major credit cards are accepted and financing is available. For out
of town clients a number of very nice suites and hotels are available in the immediate
vicinity.
A recent survey revealed that over 80% of adults polled would like to have cosmetic
surgery. Most however had never inquired or followed up on their recognition of a wish to
change their appearance. The reasons for failure to follow through were, of course, quite
varied and ranged from feelings of guilt over what they considered an issue of vanity to
simple inability to budget the necessary time. Most, however, took no actions because they
assumed that cost would be prohibitive. Another large segment of non-action was based
simply upon avoidance of confusion associated with the inability or lack of knowledge in
how to select a well qualified surgeon.
At Glenridge we make every effort to give the highest quality service, yet keep our
surgery affordable. outpatient surgery is undeniably much more affordable than the same
procedure performed in the hospital or even in a hospital outpatient department. We
further recognize that the best way to select a qualified surgeon is to meet with he or
she personally, undergo a consultation and analysis, and discuss recommendations with the
surgeon. We welcome "shoppers" and in point of fact offer complimentary
consultations for most procedures. Simply call (404)255-3555 and ask if the procedure in
which you are interested is one associated with complimentary consultation. We ask only
that if you make a consultation, and we set aside 30 minutes to 45 minutes for you that
you do us the courtesy of showing up for your allotted time.
In the following pages individual surgical procedures are discussed relative to their
indications, possible complications and expected results. In the vast majority the
indication for a cosmetic surgical procedure is simply the recognition of an appearance
with which one is not pleased and the desire to have improvement in that condition.
Several cosmetic procedures however have functional significance such as the obstruction
of peripheral vision by excess skin of the upper eye lids, or inability to breath through
the nose following injury or other acquired deformity. For the most part insurance does
not cover cosmetic surgical procedures, however if a functional component exists, such as
the above or significant deforming scars or associated hernias subsequent to operations
such as hysterectomies, Caesarean sections, or emergency surgery for abdominal trauma,
then a portion of the operation may be covered by insurance. |
